Introduction
Dental caries (tooth decay) ranks among the most
prevalent diseases in our society today. Tooth decay begins in early childhood
and can continue throughout adulthood. Few individuals escape the ravages of
this disease which is the leading cause of tooth loss before the age of 35. We
know after years of research that topically applied fluoride (mouthrinsing)
makes teeth less susceptible to decay. An accepted method by which tooth decay
can be substantially reduced is through the use of the NAFRINSE FLUORIDE MOUTHRINSE PROGRAM.
The NaFrinse Fluoride Mouthrinse
Program-Powder
This mouthrinse is for topical application
only. It is not swallowed and therefore no fluoride is ingested. After swishing
for one minute the solution is expectorated. The weekly NAFRINSE MOUTHRINSE PROGRAM consists of the
following materials:
|
NAFRINSE
SODIUM FLUORIDE 3 GRAM PACKETS |
|
|
POLYETHYLENE
JUG DISPENSER PUMP |
|
|
PLASTIC CUPS PAPER NAPKINS TRASH BAGS AND TIES |

6 EASY STEPS OF FLUORIDE
MOUTHRINSING
STORING THE FLUORIDE SOLUTION
In instances where the number of
participants is small and not all of the fluoride solution is consumed in one
session, the unused portion of the solution may be stored away from the reach
of children. The solution need not be refrigerated. To store, unscrew the pump
and replace it with the child-proof cap accompanying the container. This will
provide additional safety when the container is unattended. DISCARD unused
solution after 3 weeks.
STATEMENT BY THE COMMISSIONER OF FOOD AND
DRUGS REGARDING SCHOOL BASED USE OF FLUORIDE PREPARATIONS
The preparations and dietary supplements of
fluoride are safe and effective in reducing the incidence of dental caries when
used in accordance with accepted methods. It is acceptable for fluoride
mouthrinses and dietary supplements of fluoride to be dispensed and used in the
schools by school children, if their use is supervised adequately. "It is
the opinion of the Dental Drug Products Advisory Committee that appropriate
personnel for the supervision of these procedures include dental auxiliaries,
nurses, teachers, aides and volunteers if they have been instructed and given
in-service training by professional personnel (a dentist, dental hygienist, or
physician) in the following procedures: proper and secure storage, correct
dosage, distribution methods, and supervision of the preventive treatment
procedures."

EACH UNIT DOSE consists of a cup which contains 10 mL of 0.2% of a
PREMIXED fluoride solution together with a napkin to wipe the mouth. (Cups
containing 5mL of fluoride solution are also available). The cups are formed
entirely of pharmaceutical grade plastic.
TASTE
The fluoride solution in the cups is
flavored. Most children prefer a flavored solution. However, unflavored
fluoride is also available on request.
ADVANTAGE OF CUPS
Cups are commonplace to all children. They
know how to use cups and avoid accidental spillage.
SAFETY
The unit dose is safe because the school or
institution will be storing a diluted 0.2% fluoride solution. If accidentally
swallowed during the rinsing process, such ingestion is harmless.
SHIPPING
If you desire, we will ship your supplies to
each individual location which will eliminate your problem of major
distribution.
PARTIAL SHIPMENTS
If your school or institution cannot
accommodate the size of the shipment you are ordering, a partial shipment can
be arranged. The cartons are palletized and bound with plastic sheathing to
prevent damage in transit.
